Changes in the Community

BodhiketuThere are two changes in the community this month.

After six years at Guhyaloka, Bodhiketu is leaving to return to the UK. From September he will be devoting a year to living and working in a community raising funds for the Karuna Trust which supports the Triratna Buddhist Community's social and Dharma work in India.

He has been both the Treasurer and Administrator for Guhyaloka and his careful handling of the finances has meant that we have been able to develop realistic budgets and stick to them.  Through his efforts we have acheived an increase in our surplus, or at least a decrease in our deficit for each of the last six years.

Bodhiketu has been a good friend to us all and his commitment to meditation and understand of the Dharma has supported the spiritual aspirations of the community - we will all miss his presence very much.

Maniraja joins Guhyaloka

The other change is that Maniraja has joined us from Manchester, England.  He will be taking over from Bodhiketu as Treasurer and Administrator. Maniraja decided to come to Guhyaloka about three years ago at the end of an Ordination Course which he had supported.  At that time he said he would come to live at Guhyaloka on March 1st 2010 - and he kept his word.

He has a warm and kindly character, is good fun to have about and is very strongly idealistic.   There is no doubt that he will contribute to both the practical and spiritual dimensions of the community.
