New Community Members

It is not often that we can announce two new community members.  Saccanama

Achaladeva and Saccanama are brothers, and last year they both decided to join the community at Guhyaloka until at least early 2012.  Achaladeva has lived at Guhyaloka on and off over the last four or five years, and Saccanama has been on several long retreats in recent years - so they know the community well.  It is a great boon that we have these two men with us.

After coming on several three-month Order retreats at Guhyaloka, Saccanama decided that he would like to do the One-year Order retreat and between now and the first of those retreats has decided to join the community. He has a broad experience of the Triratna Buddhist Order and in recent years he has been active at the Bristol Buddhist Centre and, with others, in the development of the new mitra training course.  He is a serious man, a devoted disciple of Urgyen Sangharakshita, and a keen student of the Pali Canon. We are very pleased to have him join the community.  Although not really a builder, Saccanama has taken on to work with Bodhidaka, helping with maintenance and building work.

Achaladeva

Achaladeva who has for many years been a very regular long term visitor to Guhyaloka has now decided to join the community full time for at least a year or so.  He looks after our trees - both in the forest and on the terraces of El Morer and El Collao - and helps Bodhidaka with construction and maintenance work. We hope that he is able to  stay longer - but time will tell.
